We believe 100% of public donations should go directly to the field to built safe homes. That's our commitment. Therefore, we have to find another way to cover our operating expenses, and even reimburse credit card fees for online donations.

This is where The Builders come in. The Builders are a private group of donors that specifically fund our operations. We have two bank accounts: one for safe homes and one for operations, and promise to never cross the accounts.

Y Combinator, which is "the best program for creating top-end entrepreneurs that has ever existed." according to the venture capitalist, Marc Andreessen, was the first organization to fund our operations in the summer of 2015.

Since then, we've had incredible individuals, companies, and foundations that have joined The Builders.

The Builders believe in an unconventional model and their investment drives our ability to scale, offer a better donor experience, and accomplish our long-term mission.

Like any startup, we need investors who support our business model. Our investors' ROI is measured in the lives they change, not in a big liquidation event or stock options.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity and vision of The Builders.

'I started supporting New Story, because it was a crazy idea that might just work run by people I believed in. I continue to give because I see the real and raw impact that their work has, dollar for dollar supporting their operation is the biggest impact I can have.'

Pete Flint, Trulia Founder, Zillow Group Board of Directors

'We love seeing our donation spent on hiring top talent and improvements to the organizations. New Story has proven they know how to use our donation to generate more funding that ultimately creates more impact.'
