ABOUT THE JOB

As a Content Writer for New Story, you will write authentic, persuasive, compelling, and inspiring content for all external and internal communications. You’ll craft compelling content for our website, email programs, social channels, video scripts, blog, and much more. Reporting to the Director of Brand, you will make sure our communications are both on-brand and effective, bringing the New Story mission and impact to life through your words.

 

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…

  • Writing content for all New Story materials such as video scripts, social media, emails, blogs, pitch decks, and web pages.
  • Delivering excellent content that aligns with our brand voice and inspires the reader.
  • Ideating, planning, and creating content for significant moments throughout the year. 
  • Becoming an expert in the New Story voice and tone. 
  • Continuing to evolve the New Story brand voice, always representing the organization’s values.
  • Alongside the Director of Brand, establishing a writing style guide for the organization, and teaching the New Story voice to the wider team.
  • Editing content for the team to ensure everything we produce has a standard of excellence.

 

YOU MUST HAVE…

  • 1-3 years experience in consistent content creation – personal or professional
  •  A diverse portfolio of content examples including decks, web, email, blogs, and preferably creative (scripts or stories)
  •  Experience and proven expertise writing content for brand engagement
  •  Experience or basic understanding in search engine optimization
  •  An ability to adapt written tone of voice to align with various audiences
  •  A flexible, feedback-driven attitude and excitement to collaborate

 

IT’S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU HAVE…

  •  Experience writing content for a cause or a tech-startup
  •  Experience managing successful social media accounts
  •  Experience writing scripts for cause-driven videos
  •  Fluency in Spanish
