You’ll oversee and direct the operations in Mexico to ensure all New Story homes and communities are built to the highest standard.



We pioneer solutions to end global homelessness. We work with local organizations around the world to build successful, thriving communities, and we are fully committed to researching and developing new ways of building better and faster. We’re a young team currently based in San Francisco and Atlanta, expanding to Mexico City in the near future. Usually, you can find us drinking coffee or bubble tea and eating churros wherever we can find them. 



As Mexico Country Director, you will lead a team and oversee the daily operations with our partners to execute quality housing for one million individuals living at the base of the pyramid. Working closely with the Director of Global Operations,  you will ensure the creation and implementation of New Story’s impact strategy to execute with the highest level of excellence. You’ll recruit, lead, and create a strong office culture to simplify systems, develop strategic relationships and programs to further New Story’s impact, and engage with key stakeholders and partners to create systems change within the social housing sector.



  • Annual housing goals to ensure homes are built to the highest quality standards
  • Build world class organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
  • Providing direct management for the New Story Mexico team and upholding a high standard of excellence
  • Overseeing the Family Success and Housing Construction programs
  • Vetting and strengthening relationships with local execution partners
  • Recruiting top talent, building strong office culture, and overseeing office administration
  • Building out strategic relationships and opportunities to further deepen New Story’s impact by developing new business relationships and strengthening specific knowledge/skill areas



  • Building homes for 1M people at the base of the pyramid within 10 years
  • Decreasing home construction cost
  • Vetting high quality execution partners
  • Creating simplified project management systems
  • Preparing partners for success by scaling impact intervention



  • 6+ years professional experience in the housing sector, operations management or related fields
  • Professional fluency in both Spanish and English (required)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Extreme ownership mindset
  • A outstanding track record of motivating and leading teams, and holding team members accountable
  • A critical eye for details and obsessive organization skills while managing multiple systems, projects, and priorities
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify system inefficiencies, anticipate challenges and gaps, and contingency plans accordingly
  • A strong balance for empathy and high standard of excellence
  • High integrity and character
  • Courage to challenge the status quo



  • Experience working with international organizations, social enterprises, financial services, and/or impact investing

  • Adoption Reimbursement. For families who are willing to adopt, thank you! New Story will reimburse eligible team members up to $10,000 for adoption related expenses.
  • Team Summits. Every 6 months we have a full team summit where we have fun, reflect, and plan for the upcoming quarter. Past trips have been in Tahoe, CA and Atlanta, GA.
  • Continuing Education. We believe in always learning and leveling up our skills. Whether or not it’s a conference or online course you’ll find we invest in each team member so they can be the best at their craft.
