We are seeking a Senior Brand Writer to help establish and build the New Story brand voice across all creative touch points. This role is on the Brand team,  who are on a mission to create beautiful, seamless, and inspiring experiences that inspire generosity in donors. The Senior Brand Writer will help cultivate the New Story voice and tone in a variety of creative touch points for our audience: video scripts, social media, events, print media, and more. This person should feel excited about solving creative problems, mentoring others, and should have a unique vision for the different marketing and brand initiatives that come their way. 

This position works closely with the Brand Director and will likely manage other members of the writing team.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and craft beautiful brand campaign experiences that tell the New Story story and drive donors to act.
  • Work collaboratively with other writers, designers, illustrators, motion designers, videographers, vendors and internal stakeholders to create compelling brand assets.
  • In collaboration with team members and partners, lead the thinking and storytelling of exciting new creative concepts for brand, social and email campaigns across multiple lines of business.
  • Active participation and leadership in creative critiques and brainstorms.
  • Mentor more junior copywriters, giving effective feedback, helping to guide them through projects and elevate their work.
  • Present creative concepts to the team.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, managing their own time efficiently and productively.

Who You Are

  • You have at least 5 years of copywriting experience at a top branding agency, advertising agency, consumer brand, or high performing nonprofit.
  • You have some experience managing teammates.
  • You are, at your core, a storyteller. You are brimming with ideas and capable of bringing them to a compelling execution.
  • You are skilled in understanding audience insights and incorporating brand strategy into creative concepts.
  • Writing scripts is fun for you and you have a proven track record for not just thinking about the words but how they will come to life in the final production.
  • You love keeping up with trends in brand storytelling and marketing.
  • You have an independent working style and you are self-motivated and curious.
  • You are comfortable with kind but candid feedback.
  • You have a great portfolio with examples of diverse content, collaboration and work you’re really proud of.
